Join Best Tours & Travel for a true California experience at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. We’ll depart Fresno at 7:00 a.m. with a rest stop en route at Casa de Fruta, a traveler’s dream set amongst the gentle splendor of the Diablo Mountain Range. While there, you’ll discover a family tradition of some of the sweetest, freshest variety of fruit anywhere on earth. Enjoy fresh baked goods, homemade candy, and a selection of ice cream to satisfy even the most demanding sweet tooth at Casa de Sweets and specialty coffees and fresh pies are always ready at Casa de Coffee, located in the Sweet Shop. At Casa de Wine, sample their award-winning wines from Zanger Vineyards including their classic Cabernet or their unique apricot, blackberry, pomegranate, or Santa Rosa plum fruit wines. They’re perfect with dessert or as a beginning in wine coolers. Looking for a meal? The gourmet grocery and deli always has sandwiches and box lunches available, or enjoy a meal at Casa de Restaurant. You can even place your order online and they’ll have it ready for you to enjoy upon arrival.

After our stop at Casa de Fruta, we’ll be on our way to the sandy beach of Santa Cruz. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is recognized as the best seaside park in the world. The vibrant, bustling amusement park is renowned for its great rides, remarkable history, spectacular beach setting, and friendly attitude. The Boardwalk spans a wide sandy beach along Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary where it’s not unusual to see otters, dolphins, sea lions, and even whales swimming just offshore.

The Boardwalk has been in operation since 1907, and it hasn’t missed a beat! There’s affordable family fun – with free admission, summer entertainment, and affordable ride tickets. Two of the rides are National Historic Landmarks, but don’t let that fool you. The 1924 Giant Dipper wooden roller coaster still thrills riders with its hair-raising dips and turns and the Looff Carousel’s unique ring toss provides a surprising challenge. The indoor arcades offer the largest selection of games in Northern California with the latest video and redemption games, pinball machines, a vintage game collection, a two-story miniature golf course, and a laser tag arena. There’s also a family bowling center right across the street. Another reason to travel to Santa Cruz is for the fabulous fair food. Choices include corn dogs made from a secret family recipe, deep-fried artichokes, chocolate-covered bacon, and deep-fried Twinkies!

After a few hours of fun, we will depart at 4:30 p.m. with a rest stop en route. Our return to Fresno is estimated at 8:30 p.m.
