Join Best Tours & Travel as we journey to Custom House Plaza in Downtown Monterey to celebrate Monterey’s Italian heritage and cultural traditions at this special festival honoring the local fishermen of Monterey, both past and present.

We’ll depart from Fresno at 7:00 a.m. with a rest stop enroute at Casa de Fruta, a traveler’s dream set amongst the gentle splendor of the Diablo Mountain Range. While there, you’ll discover a family tradition of some of the sweetest, freshest varieties of fruit anywhere on earth. Enjoy fresh baked goods, homemade candy, and a selection of ice cream to satisfy even the most demanding sweet tooth at Casa de Sweets, and specialty coffees and fresh pies are always ready at Casa de Coffee, located in the Sweet Shop. At Casa de Wine, sample their award-winning wines from Zanger Vineyards including their classic Cabernet or unique apricot, blackberry, pomegranate, or Santa Rosa plum fruit wines. They’re perfect with dessert or as a beginning in wine coolers. Looking for a meal? The gourmet grocery and deli always has sandwiches and box lunches available, or enjoy a meal at Casa de Restaurant. You can even place your order online and they’ll have it ready for you to enjoy upon arrival.

Following our rest stop, we’ll be on our way to Monterey. Take in the expansive views of the Pacific Ocean and local wildlife from California’s iconic Pacific Highway 1.

Festa Italia is a popular family-friendly free event that shares the sights, sounds, food, and culture that make the Italian experience so special. The delicious flavors of Italy are enjoyed by attendees with tasty food offerings available for purchase, including Calamari, Steak and Sausage Sandwiches, Pasta, Arancini, Cannoli, and more, as well as wine, beer, sodas, and water. There is also an array of Italian and Festa Italia-themed merchandise, craft vendors, and more.

Enjoy aspects of the Italian culture with a bocce tournament, traditional Italian music, and dancing, with entertainers such as Mike Marotta and Friends, Tarantella Dancers, the Anthony Lane Band, and famed Italian American tenor, Pasquale Esposito. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a fun evening of music from the 50s through today with The Money Band, a popular high-energy local Monterey band.

We’ll depart Monterey at 4:30 p.m. with a rest stop enroute, for an expected arrival back in Fresno at approximately 8:00 p.m.
